Clock watchers drive me mad and when I am forced to become one myself I start spitting. I hate feeling rushed, but love deadlines. They keep you sharp! Today’s was a rushed writing session which I am not completely happy with. The story itself I fear may be – a bit bland. The content is depressing, though it does have a happy ending, of sorts. Perhaps that’s why I don’t like it so much. I’ve never been a big fan of happy endings… well, not the story kind…! 😉
Circumstance (other people – isn’t it always!) bumped today’s writing session forward from 12.30 to 5.15 pm. Usually I’m finishing up at around six, six thirty, so I was less than impressed.
‘Marple, My Dear’ took two and a half hours to write and closes at 3789 words. I have never written so quickly, nor have I ever submitted a story I have not edited, nor read through! A deadline is a deadline and better an on time unedited story than a fantastic one that doesn’t get there in time! I am waiting for the cruel lash of my editor’s whip… We shall soon learn if it is considered a worthy Telling Tale or not… aargh… I hate waiting.
