#22 Clever Boy

Daily DebriefingA curious turn of events today, each one, both interfering with, yet in it’s own way, adding to today’s writing session.

A writer cannot afford to stop writing, simply because the world around them continuous to flow. Like a Borg, one must adapt. On todays agenda, three tasks, each in itself a small task, but overall, the total task time would potentially cut dramatically into today’s allocated writing slot.

It couldn’t be countenanced.

Today’s list of chores. Call the Plummer. Ring Ray. Buy Cigs. Ever in the writing frame of mind, and determined not to be thrown from my task, a new character was born, one Plummer Ray Cigs, and thus so too did today’s Telling Tale begin…

I wrote after calling for a plumber. I wrote while I awaited his arrival. I instructed him on what needed to be done and informed him I needed to work while he did. I wrote, sitting only four feet from him while he drilled my kitchen tap fittings into submission. We agreed loud music was a good idea so as not to distract one another from their task and both of us listened to ‘The Rockin’ Berries.’

I wrote after a thirty minute telephone conversation with my accountant.

I finished writing. I printed. I walked to the shops, filled my lungs with fresh air and bought cigs and a bottle of beer.

The red wine is pouring as I debrief. Not a fan of red wine. Much prefer a nice Semillon Sauvignon. I am opting for the Henninger though today. I do love a good German beer. Well earned after a day of chaos interspersed with flurries of typing. 3234 words, eight and a half pages…

‘CLEVER BOY’.

Clever girl… non? 🙂
