#18 The Lollipop Girl

Daily DebriefingOn my writing desk sits my laptop, a huge writing blot, a basket full of pens, six blank notebooks, a thesaurus, a full cd folder and a bag of lollipops.

Lollipops are a great de-stress mechanism and incidentally, also particularly good if trying to quit smoking. The longer one leaves the stick in one’s mouth after the lolly part has been sucked dry, the less inclined one is to pick up a cigarette. It works a treat.

Personally, one thing I find more stressful than perhaps any other is shopping. I am perhaps one of the few women on the planet who prefers to keep her purse in her pocket. To negate the stress – of a big grocery shop in particular – I suck lollipops.

When settling into todays session I simply could not decide where to begin today’s Tale. Without thought, I unwrapped a lollipop and began sucking. I typed;

“Roses are red, violets are blue… my lollipop’s pink – and it tastes good too!” My muses struck gold for me almost instantly and today’s Tale, #18 for 2013, begins with the sentence; ‘Lollipops were Lolly’s de-stress mechanism…’

‘THE LOLLIPOP GIRL’ is 3735 words in length. If you love sexy blondes and Italian food you will likely get a kick out of this one!
