#10 The Story Of Vixen Rose

Daily DebriefingI never have been a big fan of monkeys, puppets, and in particular those wooden puppets used by ventriloquists in stage shows. Especially – monkey puppets. They’re a little freaky. I do love Strassman’s Ted E. Bear though, and I have to say – blummy what a mouth he’s got! His master should never have retired him. Too few people speak so bluntly as Ted E. Bear. Oh well. All good things must come to an end…

Today’s main character, Vixen Rose, comes to just such a realisation in this quick-moving Telling Tale of intrigue. Yes – it features a disturbing monkey puppet. Written more in the style of a screen play than a short story, this tale has three viewpoint changes in quick succession and had my editor’s head spinning. But it worked. Thankfully.

‘The Story Of Vixen Rose’ took five hours to compose, despite being only 2314 words in length and has left me in dire need of a vodka.

Pity I’m out. Champagne will have to suffice. Oh, the sheer torture of it all!
